By using our site, or submitting any information to us, you confirm that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to comply with them.  Be aware that on our site we may provide information about organisations and events, but any such inclusion should not be taken as any endorsement or warranty by us of the type or quality of any goods, service or product offered by them. Our website also contains links to other websites with which Bury2Gether is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of any third party.

 

Who we are

Bury2Gether is a Forum for Parents/Carers of young people with SEND who access services in Bury. Our aim is to bring about positive change for families of children and young people with any additional need or disability. We achieve this by empowering parent carers in effective participation to shape services and provide information and support.

 

Privacy

Bury2Gether Parent Carer Forum are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. It is not our policy to collect any personal data without first advising you of this. You will always know when you are providing personal data to us as we will advise you of it at the time. For example if you fill in a membership form or book an event through our website, we will need to take certain information from you. This is for our information only and will only be used by us. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is Bury2Gether, The Blue Building, 275a Brandlesholme Road, Bury, BL9 8HS.

 

When do we collect information about you?

Bury2Gether may collect and use personal information through this website when you have consented to our use of your personal data, for example:

 

  • Information about your use of this website including information obtained via cookies.

  • Information that you provide for the purpose of feedback on this website and on any service provided by Bury2Gether and any other information that you send to Bury2Gether.

  • When you register with us as a member we collect information from you when you complete an online or a hard copy of our membership form. For example, your name, contact details, needs and age range of your child/ren to help monitor what our reach is in the wider community and supply information that is applicable to you and your family’s needs.

  • When you sign up to our information events through our Website or Facebook.

  • When you give your views on current support, services and future developments - we may do this by asking you to complete either an online survey, email or a hard copy sometimes this may have personal data.   

 

Using Personal Information

We collect information about you to manage your account with us and to send you information about Special Education Needs and our organisation. For example, if you have joined as a member you may receive our email bulletins, newsletters or communications about Special Education Needs and Disability or information about Bury2Gether. We use this to:

 

  • Send you information including but not limited to newsletters, events, leaflets etc.

  • Contact you for the purpose of discussing a booking or event.

  • To supply you with information/emails that you have opted into (you may unsubscribe or opt-out at any time) about other services which we think may be of interest to you that is SEN and disability related.

  • To personalise and tailor our information about our services to you.

  • To reply to emails from you; we will not, however, send you any unsolicited marketing or spam and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that we fully protect your rights and comply with our obligations under the GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.

 

Your information will be held confidentially.  We will not share any of your personal data with any third parties unless we have separate permission to do so from you.  Occasionally we may need to disclose information to our Data Processor or sub-Processor. Where we need to do so, the Data Processor or sub-Processor in question will be obligated to use that personal information in accordance with the terms of this statement.  

 

In addition to the disclosures reasonably necessary for the purposes identified elsewhere above, Bury2Gether may disclose your personal information to the extent that it is required to do so by law, in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings, national security and in order to establish, exercise or defend its legal rights.

 

How and where do we store your data

We will endeavour to keep data only for as long as we need it. This means that we will delete it when it is no longer needed. We will keep some records permanently if we are legally required to do so and may keep some other records for an extended period of time to follow best practice.  Data retention will be determined on the following basis: Membership data will be held as long as you are a member of our group however if you ask to leave our group we will ensure all your data is deleted from our membership within 30 working days.

 

Data security is very important to us, and to protect your data we have taken suitable measures to safeguard and secure data collected through our organisation and we only use organisations that are data compliant to record/store our data.

  

  • Main Database – we use MS Excel & Google Sheets, you can access their Privacy Policy here

  • Events – we use Eventbrite, you can access their Privacy Policy here

  • Online Surveys -we use Survey Monkey, access their Privacy Policy here

  • Our own data is stored on our online cloud system MS OneDrive, access their Privacy Policy here 

  • Facebook is used to collect Parent Carers’ views, comments etc, access their Privacy Policy here

  • Website – we use Wix.com platform which allows us to provide services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. You can access their privacy policy here

 

Bury2Gether will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration and to store, process and transport all personal information you provide in a secure manner.

 

Your rights and your personal data

You have the right to access, correct, have erased, and object to processing your personal data. You can make any changes easily by telephone, email, or by post (see contact details below). When exercising any of the rights, we may need to verify your identity for your security. Once we have received your request we will respond within one month. For the right to access there are no fees or charges for the first request but additional requests for the same data may be subject to an administrative fee. We will confirm whether the data has been deleted or processing has stopped or the reason why this cannot be done (for example because we need it for our legitimate interests or regulatory purpose(s)). You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

 

Updating this Statement

Bury2Gether may update this document by posting a new version on this website at any time.  You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are familiar with any changes.
